Greetings Friend,

I trust there will be something on this website that will be informative, inspirational or at the very least enjoyable.

The summer months with vacations are upon us and the busy schedule that comes with camps, mission’s trips, outreach programs and special services. During this busy season let us be careful not to neglect our daily devotions, family times and church.

Please take time to browse through our website and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Check out our podcast and listen to our services.  I trust the messages will be a blessing to you and help you draw closer to the Lord.

If you live within driving distance we would love to have you attend and become part of our very loving and caring church family.  We have very exciting and dynamic worship with a mixture of traditional and contemporary music.

Our children’s and youth ministries are exciting and relevant with plenty of extracurricular activities to keep the young happy.

Many blessings to you,

Pastor Watters

Modern Idols

Read Jeremiah 26:1–24; 7:1 through 10:25

It’s easy to look down on the ancient Jews who fell into idolatry and displeased the Lord (Jeremiah 7:30). What nerve to place a carved image in the very temple of God himself! No wonder the Lord became angry and pronounced judgment on them. However, today’s Christians sometimes do the same thing!

The Lord no longer manifests His presence in a physical temple. The ark of the covenant and the Most Holy Place have not been part of worship for centuries. Now, God’s temple is the human heart. The Holy Spirit himself resides there.

Yet into this special place can come idols. Material possessions, desire for pleasure or power, relationships with people, and even self can all be set on a throne in the heart as false gods that rival the Heavenly Father for lordship.

Will God pronounce judgment on the people of the Old Testament while ignoring idolatry by Christians today? Does He hold Christ’s followers to the same or higher standards as He held the ancient children of Israel?

What’s on the throne of your heart? Is anything threatening to usurp the Lord as ruler of your life? Knock down the idols today, and turn back to Him.

Prayer Suggestion: God, take first place in my heart.
